Guzin Potente, RYT 500

Guzin moved from Germany to Long Island in 2001 after receiving her Masters degree in Education and Children Psychiatry. Her love to Yoga led her to the Yoga Teachers Training Institute where she found her second home and graduated in 2006. Her teachers Marianne Mitsinikos and Mokshapriya Shakti inspired her to stay on the path of Yoga as a life long student. Guzin accepted Marianne's gracious offer to take over the business of Northport Yoga Center in April 2008 and since then she is committed to offer Yoga to the community. She enjoys studying Eastern philosophies and Meditation and likes to combine them in her teaching style. She studied with various teachers like Judith Hanson Lasater and Cyndi Lee. Roxana Lucero, RYT 500
Six years ago at a local gym I took a beginner yoga class and fell in love with the practice. Finally I found a practice that fulfilled me and challenged me each and every time, physically and mentally. I concentrated in astanga but soon learned to slow down, savor the strength in hatha and experienced the beauty of alignment in Iyengar. My love for the practice of yoga led me to YTTI, I took the teacher training in 2006, graduated with an amazing group of classmates at the 200 hour level and it completely transformed me. I am so blessed to have been taught by two great teachers with infinite knowledge, Marianne and Mokshapriya, who continue to guide me with loving hands. I am continuing my education right alongside many of my classmates. I will pursue the certification of power yoga with Beryl Bender Birch soon thereafter. With my teacher's recommendation I became part of the Long Island Yoga Association board of directors this year. My beloved teacher Marianne told us at the beginning of our training "yoga is my life, my life is yoga" teaching this great gift of yoga each and every time brings so much joy to my heart and I am honored to share it with you. From my first visit to the Northport Yoga Center I felt I was home and I'm so very happy and proud to be part of it.
